I've been seeing a lot of comments surrounding JK. Rowling latest mold-filled hate towards Asexuals and aroace people in general, mostly asking: "why would anyone go after the people that are literally doing nothing?"

But aroace people are not doing nothing, you are disrrupting the status quo, even if you think it's just you choosing not to have sex or seek a romantic partner, that's something that goes agaisnt conservative values. In the eyes of conservatives and bigots, you are part of the destruction of the traditional family structure. Cause this people would prefer you being miserable but with a big family made up of the next working class to fill minimum wage positions.

Hell, presenting an alternative lifestyle where you can actually choose to not be with anyone is dangerous for their cause. It is an active message to others that you don't have to tolerate abuse or social pressure to be with someone, and that's something that everyone, wether in the aroace espectrum or not, might need in order to form their own boundaries and not fall into a relationship they never wanted.

So yeah, keep doing nothing Asexuals and Aromantics! For freedom of choice is the enemy of fascism.

The second illustration has four Thespiuses.

The first/upper left Thespius is leaning on his elbows on slightly darker pink clouds, framed by the seemingly setting sun like a halo. He has a gentle bright smile and is resting his cheek in his curled left palm. His right hand is tucked into his left elbow, and two other disconnected hands -- one on each side -- are somewhat spread palm-up around him in a welcoming sort of gesture. The third/middle Thespius flows with the rippling stripes of colour behind him, pivoting on his left heel with his right up and behind him and arms outstretched as though dancing. His right hand in particular reaches palm-up (as if to an offscreen partner) with flower petals scattering from it. He's smiling bright. his hair flows out behind him and two the viewer's left, with a red headband (with arrow-like patterns on it) around. He wears a baggy, pale tan shirt with thin horizontal stripes and a semi-dipped neckline, all of which bunches and flows outwards with the rest of his dance. Azula in Fandom

I really did love Azula. She's one of the most fascinating characters in ATLA: brilliant, terrifying, powerful, tragic, and deeply flawed. I loved that the show let her be complicated without ever pretending she wasn’t dangerous.

And I still love her, but honestly, some parts of the fandom have made it harder. Watching people erase her harm, excuse everything she did, or attack others for acknowledging her complexity doesn’t make her look better, it just makes real conversations about her impossible. Azula was compelling because she was broken, cruel, vulnerable, and human all at once.

Flattening her into a untouchable girlboss or a misunderstood victim that just wanted the best doesn't honor that story, it kinda cheapens it.

I’m still rooting for her character, and I always will be. But if I'm honest, it feels like my love for her has faded a little, not because of who she is, but because of how some of her fans behave (NOT ALL FANS, by no means all fans, but a loud enough *few* who excuse abuse, downplay harm, and treat disagreements about her online like I just killed their puppy in front of their eyes).

It's just kinda sad seeing something I cared about get twisted into something uglier  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
